About us
The practice is headed by Bill Preston an architect with over thirty years experience and a member of the RIBA and RIAS. Bill is in a unique position having been employed by house builders and developers, private architectural practices and also having practiced on his own, and is therefore able to offer differing perspectives on your project.
After an initial two year period with a local private practice in Ayrshire providing a sound start in his career, Bill joined the first of several house builders. His first period of housebuilding lasted twenty years and lead to Bill working the full length of the country. During this period, Bill worked for five house builders and their subsidiary companies.
Bill then spent three years in self employment during which time he worked as a consultant for a number of house builders and as many single clients with bespoke designs. These included site layout design, design of house type ranges, one off house design, small factory units, agricultural buildings, refurbishment projects, house extensions, technical timber frame design and so much more.
After being approached by one of his clients to join their organisation Bill then enjoyed a period of ten years within which he was approached and offered positions with a number of house builders and private practices before setting up this current practice.
During his time in practice Bill has experience working in various parts of the country, the majority of which has been within the certral belt of Scotland, but he has also worked on projects in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Cornwall.
